I’ve never liked the ADHD label, especially those Ds—deficit and disorder. Having ADHD is hard enough, but when you mix in those negative words, you may feel shameful, defective, and disillusioned.
When I started working with adults and children with ADHD decades ago, there was such a stigma around it. While we’ve come far since then, with much more awareness and education on the condition, those Ds still exist.
The reality is that millions of people have been diagnosed with ADHD. Millions more are suffering in silence. Some would even call it an epidemic. But what I’ve learned in my year of both living with the disease and coaching others is that it’s not a disorder. Rather it’s just a different brain type, which I call the innovator brain.
In my book, Your Innovator Brain – The Truth About ADHD, I take readers on a journey of my personal experiences. It’s a guide to living a fulfilling and confident life with ADHD and how to tap into your natural talents and strengths. I came to realize that ADHD isn’t about a deficit or a disorder. In fact, you might even say that those with ADHD are lucky.
Your brain works in such an amazing way. It may seem like chaos at times, but the way you see the world is unique. Consider ADHD is something like a superpower. Like every superpower, you have to refine it and work through challenges.
Helping others learn how to optimize their gifted brains is what I was born to do. I decided to take my own experiences with this brain type along with my education and chart out a new course for treatment with ADHD coaching. After years of working with so many that have suffered, I’ve been able to create successful programs for adults, students, couples, and families.
My focus is on leveraging your innovator brain and developing positive habits that lead to behavior changes. This allows my clients to find more peace, contentment, and joy in their lives. They also communicate better and find success in their career, schooling, and relationships.
