ADHD Coaching Serving Adults, Teens, Kids, & Couples

ADHD and Executive Functioning Weakness on the Rise

Whether you’re already a coach or you’re thinking about becoming an ADHD Coach, now is the time to think about getting trained to work with a specific population of people. There’s a shift in the way people understand and identify ADHD and its symptoms. Instead of relying only on the diagnosis and specific neurological profile of ADHD, the term “Executive Functioning Weakness” to identify the particular issues with the brain’s executive functions is on the rise. As a result, there is a new and growing category of people who desperately need and can benefit from ADHD Coaching whether labeled ADHD or not.

Like ADHD, Executive Functioning Skills are the ones we use to manage learning, organizing, planning, and communication. Unlike ADHD, you can have Executive Functioning Weakness as a result of the brain being damaged or hampered in some way as a result of causes like birth trauma, childhood developmental delays, head injuries, poverty, isolation, poor parenting, and lack of nutrition to name some of them. Broadening the scope of what we now understand can cause problems in the prefrontal cortex opens the door to more people getting the help they need.

One major benefit of using “Executive Functioning Weakness” is that it removes the stigma of being labeled ADHD and the feeling of being marked for life. In addition to losing the stigma of being labeled ADHD, using the new term “Executive Functioning Weakness” will make it easier and quicker for people to get the right kind of help based on their own unique cluster of symptoms rather than the non-descriptive label ADHD.

What does this mean and what does it have to do with you? This means that ADHD Coaches now have a growing pool of clients just waiting for their support, understanding, and expertise! Being trained to meet this growing need for coaches who understand people with executive function issues and ADHD is critical. Becoming an ADHD Coach means making a huge positive difference in the lives of people who need you now more than ever – as well as creating a business or practice that sustains you.
